Asheville Latin Americans Achieving Success WNC College Scholarships
Eligibility Requirements: for Undocumented/DACAmented students studying at any college or university in Western North Carolina. Students at the undergraduate and graduate levels are welcome to apply.
Eligibility Requirements: Scholar must demonstrate financial need, plan to enroll as a full-time student at N.C. State University, UNC-Chapel Hill, or UNC-Greensboro, and permanently reside in Surry County (check website, there are other counties that apply, this is specifically for EHS and SECHS students). Seventeen scholarships will be awarded.
Scholarship Award: Scholarship award is about half the cost of an undergraduate education. The maximum award in 2013-2014 was $11,700. Scholars may receive additional funding for summer internships, research or travel abroad, and a one-time computer stipend of $2,500.
Eligibility Requirements: Applicant must be a rising female college freshman, re-entry or transfer student, enrolling in an accredited institution of higher learning located in North Carolina. Must qualify for NC resident status for tuition purposes. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and must declare a STEM major or demonstrate interest in STEM with a particular focus on technology and engineering.
Eligibility Requirements: Contingent upon successful and timely academic progression. The applicant is required to have a declared major in the following study areas; agronomy, agricultural engineering, agriculture sustainability, agriculture education, animal science, forestry, natural resource conservation or management, plant science, soil science, water management, water quality, wildlife management or other closely related degree programs. Other requirements: must be a resident of NC, attend or plan to attend a NC college, and have achieved academic excellent in high school and/or college. Consideration will be given to superior academic accomplishments, extracurricular activities, honors and achievements obtained. Financial need and other scholarships awarded are also considered. (Priority given to students already in college, with 50% of credit hours completed).

Eligibility Requirements: Applicant must be a high school senior enrolling for the 2019 fall semester as a college freshman, be a spouse or dependent of a permanent, full-time employee of CFIC retail, wholesale, or supplier member company, be a student who at a minimum is a part-time employee of a CFIC retail, wholesale, or supplier member company in North Carolina. Eligibility Requirements: Must be interested in pursuing a career as an electrical lineman and have successfully complete a community college lineman’s program. Currently, there are four community colleges offering qualified programs. They are: Caldwell Community College, Forsyth Technical Community College, Nash Community College, Stanly Community College.
Eligibility Requirements: A completed application form answering all questions and a separate listing of extracurricular activities, honors, community or church work, and work experience. They must also include a current photograph, an official transcript (including first semester senior courses and current GPA), a letter of recommendation from the student's minister, employer, or an adult friend, a letter of recommendation from the student's high school guidance counselor or one of his/her teachers, and an original responding the the provided prompt.
Scholarship Award: $3,000 (non-renewable) and $1,000 (non-renewable) to the runner-up.
Eligibility Requirements: Be a graduating high school senior planning to attend a four-year accredited academic institution. Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and a legal resident of Colorado, Georgia, Illinois or North Carolina. Have a cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above. Demonstrate financial need (annual household income no greater than $70,000) Possess excellent leadership skills, an ability to persevere through difficult circumstances, and a strong interest in and commitment to their community.
Eligibility Requirements: Be a North Carolina resident for tuition purposes, be a high school senior enrolling full-time as a first-year student or a community college transfer student enrolling for the first time at a participating North Carolina university, be a resident of Surry, Wilkes, or Yadkin counties, and have financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Scholarship Award: The scholarship provides $3,000 a year for up to 4 years to high school seniors and $3,000 a year for up to 3 years to community college transfer students.

Preference may be given to those who are pursuing a two-year associate's degree.
Eligibility Requirements: The scholarship is intended to provide financial support for deserving students who demonstrate the ideals and leadership qualities of Congressman Coble. In order to perpetuate Congressman Coble’s legacy, students residing in the following counties in North Carolina will be eligible for this scholarship: Alamance, Caswell, Davidson, Durham, Granville, Guilford, Moore, Orange, Person, Randolph, Rockingham, Rowan, Stokes, and Surry. The scholarship will support incoming freshmen as a first priority and will be awarded to one or more students who demonstrate the ideals and leadership qualities of Congressman Coble, including high moral character and good citizenship. Priority will be given to children of U.S. military personnel or U.S. military veterans, members of scouting programs, and members of ROTC programs.

The Joseph Roy Kirkman Scholarship- 4 year university
Eligibility Requirements: Applicant must be a North Carolina resident who plans to enroll in a North Carolina 4 year university. Applicants must plan to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Education. The student must have a 3.0 or higher and complete an application and accompanying personal statement.
The Joseph Roy Kirkman Scholarship - Surry Community College
Eligibility Requirements: Applicant must be a North Carolina resident who plans to enroll in at Surry Community College. Applicants must pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Education upton graduation. The student must have a 3.0 or higher
Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must have a minimum of 3.5 GPA. Must have been accepted at an accredited university or community college. Must be Latino or of Latino origin. Must demonstrate financial need.
Eligibility Requirements: The applicant must be a NC High School graduating senior / incoming freshman or sophomore student attending an institution of higher education (College/University). Must be at least 50% of Hispanic-Latino descent.Submit high school transcript with a minimum C+ or 2.5 grade point average and submit either SAT or ACT scores. Open to DACA students.
Eligibility Requirements: All applicants must be either a high school senior or enrolled in a school of advanced education; be in need of financial assistance; and have at least a “B” average or not below 90%, if percentile system is used.
Local Government Federal Credit Union (SECU) Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements: LGFCU (SECU) members in good standing are eligible to apply for this scholarship. A member in good standing is not overdrawn on Checking or Share Accounts, and has not defaulted on LGFCU loans. UTMA Accounts do not qualify. Applicants also must: Have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0. Be a full-time graduate, undergraduate or trade school student. Submit official school transcripts. NC Association of School Resource Officers Student Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements: Fall 2019 attending a 2 year or 4 year college or university and holding a minimum of a 2.5 unweighted GPA. The applicant must submit a video message on a DVD on what their plans are during and after college. The video message should be at least two minutes in length.
Eligibility Requirements: The award is available to students with kidney disease, kidney transplant or children of parents with kidney disease or transplant. Priority is given to kidney patients.
Scholarship Award: One award is given annually with a $1000 award minimum and a $1250 award maximum.
North Carolina Alpha Delta Kappa Student Achievement Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements: Graduating seniors of a North Carolina high school pursuing a degree at a school of higher learning.
Applicants must have an unweighted GPA of 2.5 to 3.5 and an SAT score (including Math, Reading, and Writing and Language Tests) in the range of 990 to 1130 OR an ACT composite score between 20 and 24. THIS SCHOLARSHIP IS DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS WITH GRADES AND SCORES FALLING WITHIN THESE RANGES ONLY. STUDENTS WITH LOWER OR HIGHER SCORES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
North Carolina Child Support Council Scholarship (Bob R. McGuire)
Eligibility Requirements: At least one parent must be a member of the North Carolina Child Support Council or a client of the Child Support Program (through either Child Support services or Clerk of Court services). Applicant must be a resident of North Carolina and a graduating high school senior. Applicant must have been accepted by a North Carolina school of higher learning: a College, University, Community College or Technical School. Applicant needs to attach a copy of the acceptance letter. Applicant must have maintained an overall C average or above during his/her high school career.

North Carolina Education and Training Voucher Program
Eligibility Requirements: You must have aged out of the foster care system at age 18 or were adopted from foster care with adoption finalization after your 16th birthday; you must be under 21 years of age, must be accepted into or be enrolled in a degree, certificate, or other accredited program at a college or vocational program and show progress towards that degree or certificate. You must not have personal assets greater than $10,000, must be a US citizen or qualified non-citizen, and be eligible for the NC LINKS program.
Scholarship Award: Up to $5,000 per year for tuition, books, or qualified living expenses for up to 4 years.
North Carolina Extension and Community Association Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements: Priority is given to students interested in pursuing a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences. The award will be based on financial need, academic potential, activities and honors, and cooperative extensive service involvement.
Eligibility Requirements: Must have graduated from a North Carolina high school within the past two years, must have a four-year cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale or a 3.5 on a 5.0 scale, and must be accepted into a 2- or 4-year college or university. Preference is given to full-time students, but part-time students may apply. Preference will be given to foreign-born applicants or native-born children of foreign-born parents.
Scholarship Award: Between $500 and $2,500. Scholarship recipients may apply for renewal for up to four years. Scholarships are designated for tuition, fees and room and board.
North Carolina Hospitality Education Foundation Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements: High school seniors who plan to enroll or students already enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year, college or university, or vocational-technical school in North Carolina, pursuing a course of study in culinary arts, hospitality management or tourism, and be a North Carolina resident.
Scholarship Award: Scholarships range from $750 to $1,500 for the year.
Eligibility Requirements: Must be a dependent child of a NC service member wounded or killed while serving in a combat zone from September 11, 2001, until the present, or one whose military sponsor was a NC resident at the time of service.
Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must: Either age out of North Carolina public foster care by age 18-25 or be adopted from North Carolina public foster care on or after the student's 12th birthday. Enroll at either a state community college or one of the 16 constituent institutions of the University of North Carolina system, at least half time, pursuing an undergraduate degree, diploma, or certificate. Make satisfactory progress toward the completion of undergraduate study. Comply with registration requirements for military service unless they are exempt from registration. Not be in default or owe a refund under any federal or state loan or grant program.

Eligibility Requirements: The applicant must: Be a resident of North Carolina, enroll in an accredited school of higher education in North Carolina, enroll with six (6) or more credits (per semester) in an accounting degree program, and show a firm intention to continue in the field of accounting.
Eligibility Requirements: Must be a resident of NC with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Must major in some area of Criminal Justice or related field. Financial circumstances are considered, and student must be active in the community, church, and/or school activities.
Scholarship Award: $1,000 to the top applicant, $500 to 2nd and 3rd place applications.

Oliver Joel and Ellen Pell Denny Healthcare Scholarship Fund
Eligibility Requirements: - Must be seeking a two or four-year degree or be enrolled in a program leading to a certificate or diploma, attend an accredited North Carolina school pursuing healthcare education, have a high school/college cumulative unweighted GPA of at least 2.5 for all healthcare programs and demonstrate financial need.
