Autism Society of North Carolina (Surry County Chapter) Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements: This scholarship is for any student or immediate family member of a student diagnosed with autism. Student must reside in Surry County and have a current GPA of 3.0.
Scholarship Award: Scholarships totaling $3,000 will be awarded. The number of scholarships and amount of each scholarship will be based off of how many applications are received.

Charles Edward Cathey Masonic Scholarship
The Cathey Scholarship, funded by the Freemasons of North Carolina through the Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons, rewards high school seniors who have demonstrated academic achievement. The Grand Lodge Scholarship Committee selects recipients.
Eligibility Requirements: Individual must be entering or continuing an accredited college or university with the intentions of majoring in a medical field, (including but not limited to nursing, physical therapy, administration, radiology, etc.)
Scholarship Award: An amount of a maximum of $2,500 per semester.
Fisher-Matthews-Misenheimer "Spirit to Learn" Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements: Scholarship for a student who faced exceptionally difficult personal or family circumstances. Complete Application and provide a one or two pages of typewritten comments on “How Personal Challenges have Influenced my Life and Goals.”
Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must be: a graduating high school senior, a United States citizen, be accepted by an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school, have at least a C grade point average (GPA), express an interest to return to a rural community. Students must write submit an essay, an Educator's Statement, and a recommendation from a community leader. The form for the scholarship can be found online. Students must drop applications off at the Surry Telephone office in Dobson.
Scholarship Award: $2,500 (non-renewable)

Eligibility Requirements: The scholarship will support incoming freshmen as a first priority and will be awarded to one or more students who demonstrate the ideals and leadership qualities of Congressman Coble, including high moral character and good citizenship. Priority will be given to children of U.S. military personnel or U.S. military veterans, members of scouting programs, and members of ROTC programs.
The Rotary Scholarship is given in order to foster and acknowledge the embodiment of service above self, of giving oneself to others in a habitual, firm, and decisive way.
Northern Hospital of Surry County announces a new scholarship program for nursing (RN and LPN). The scholarship will fund up to two years (maximum of $5,000) of student's education and offers consideration of immediate hiring upon graduation. Scholarship recipient will commit to a full-time position for 24-months at Northern Hospital of Surry County, following successful graduation from the nursing program.
Eligibility Requirements: Applicant must be a resident of NC and must be a high school senior. Applicant must be in the top 25% of their class and plan to enroll in a 4-year college or university in the state of North Carolina. Must be a U.S citizen or permanent resident.
Eligibility Requirements: Students write and submit one essay (600- 1000 words) on the topic selected by the community for which they are applying. Contestants may enter only one time for one community (essay topics vary by community).

Surry Arts Council Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements: This scholarship seeks students pursuing a degree in music, drama, dance, television/film/communications, visual arts, commercial art, arts administration, or other art-related fields.
Eligibility Requirements: Children of disabled, deceased, combat or POW/MIA war veterans may be eligible for a scholarship to attend one of the public universities or community colleges in North Carolina. Contact the Surry County Veterans Service Office at (336) 783-8820 for details.

Whitlow-Osborne Scholarship -- NC Association of Rescue & Emergency Medical Services
Eligibility Requirements: Available to children or members of an Emergency Services organization in Surry, Wilkes, or Yadkin counties.
Eligibility Requirements: This scholarship has been established for seniors who have clearly demonstrated “service above self” through community service involvement.
